Why Vote For Lisa?

I am not a politician, and this is the first time I've run for office.

In May 2005, my husband and I moved to our home in Ward 2. We've made it our home ever since, with the exception of 2009-2013 while my husband was on a tour of active duty at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. I absolutely love living in Ward 2, and I have been actively promoting its many benefits as a neighbor, friend, and real estate professional for over a decade.

I will bring a unique and balanced perspective on the issues facing Columbia. As a small business owner, the daughter and wife of a veteran, an avid parks and recreation fan, and a caring citizen, I am at a special time in my life when I have the time to serve the citizens of our community.

This is a nonpartisan position. If duly elected, I will take an oath of office to support the Constitution and the laws of the United States and State of Missouri, and the charter and ordinances of the City of Columbia. It would be an honor to be of service.

Volunteering and Civic Engagement

Columbia offers many wonderful opportunities to volunteer, and I've had the pleasure of participating in many. A few highlights over the years include receiving the City of Columbia's Volunteer of the Month award in June 2020, serving as president of the Columbia Northwest Rotary Club (2019) and chair of the Heart of Missouri United Way Campaign (2018). I've participated in many public events: most recently, the public interview for the chief of police and, over the years, various affordable housing symposiums and numerous council meetings.

CBOR Endorses REALTOR® Member Lisa Meyer for Second Ward - The CBOR Board of Directors endorsed CBOR REALTOR® member, Lisa Meyer, in her bid to become the City of Columbia's Second Ward Councilperson on April 2nd. The endorsement is based on Mrs. Meyer's performance during the CBOR Mark Farnen Candidates Forum in January, where she clearly demonstrated a better understanding over her opponents regarding issues the City Council will dealing with regarding housing, public safety, and infrastructure needs in the coming years.
